If you’re paying attention to how valuable our data is, another question may arise. How much is my personal data worth? This is a question I’ve been asking for five years. I’ve never received a satisfactory response, and I’ve asked people that should know, including data scientists. The answers range from ‘I simply do not know’ to ‘it’s too marginal to be meaningful’ to ‘it’s a shifting scale that changes all the time.’ But my assertion is that it doesn’t shift enough to disrupt the revenue models of some of the largest and most powerful companies in the world. So it must be possible to pin down an answer. - Christian Pusateri
